10-year-old Hero Saved His Brother’s Life After Remembering His Favorite Actor “The Rock”

Do you love superheroes? Kids love them, they see them on tv, but for them, it just becomes real life to be one or to have a superhero friend.

A kid who lost his hand has a prosthetic superhero hand that his father designed for him, and the world just became a better place!

This family had a different hero, inspired by a real actor in a movie scene. Little Jacob was a real-life hero who saved the life of his younger brother, Dylan, who was drowning in a swimming pool. He knew exactly what he needed to do, because of the movie San Andreas and a powerful scene.

Jacob O’Conner, 10, was at his grandmother’s house in Detroit on July 25, where she was watching television. His grandmother had a pool in her backyard, and he was playing with his brother by the water. This time, Dylan was by himself near the pool. And although he usually wore a swimming vest and arm bands to be safe, that day he didn’t put them on. It was almost fatal, but he was lucky.

Jacob noticed the toddler had opened the screen door, walked through and fallen into the pool. But by the time he got to him, Dylan was unconscious and then something amazing happened. Jacob remembered his favorite screen hero, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the rescuing scene from San Andreas.

In San Andreas, “The Rock” Johnson plays a rescue helicopter pilot trying to save his daughter as an earthquake strikes the city. The heroic protagonist actually gives her CPR to save her. Luckily, this was Jacob’s favorite movie.

“The movie just popped up in my head and I started thinking about that scene,” Jacob told The Washington Post. “That’s when I started doing the compressions”. He did this for about thirty seconds until the child spit up water, and he was saved. Then, the child ran to get his grandmother. She gave him mouth to mouth and called 911, as the as the ambulance arrived. The grandmother spoke to C&G News about the situation.

“I ran to the back door and ran outside. Dylan was laying on the deck and he was not responsive. At that point, Jacob said he had pulled Dylan out of the pool, and before he came to get me gave him chest compressions. It was the scariest day in my life, because I didn’t know what was going to happen, how long he had been in.”

The grandmother said she had no way to get out because all of the doors were locked. By the next day, 2-year-old Dylan was back to normal. Jacob

The next day, 2-year-old Dylan was back to normal. Jacob explained that he did what they do in movies. “In most movies, that’s what they do,” he explained, “They try to save the person first, and if it’s not working, they go get someone”.

The mother of the two was beyond relieved, and happy to have Jacob as a son. “He is a hero,” she told C&G News. “When I saw him, I gave him the biggest hug and I told him, ‘It’s because of you that he’s still here. You saved his life’.”

The Rock himself also noticed the story and tweeted about it.

Expectedly, the internet loved the events that unfolded.
