Things in life come and go, and everything changes. But what is lost sometimes come back – and even though people sometimes break up, they still remain close. This is the case with some celebrities, too.
Like these guys. Remember them?
Often, the reasons celebrities remain close even after a break-up or a divorce, is of course, for the good of the children. Funny how a common cause can bring people together and still achieve what has been spoiled by vanity and passion. But, some fans theorize that celebrities often remain “close” because of the fans themselves – i.e. the idea to please the fans and give them something to talk about. While this idea seems logical on the surface, can you imagine any of you pretending to be close to someone you secretly hate?
Well, oops – I guess that’s not that uncommon, yikes. But whatever the reason for the make-ups after the break-ups, here is a selection of celebrities who got close again after they grew apart (thanks, Ranker). At any rate, there’s a beautiful message here – that even after the most passionate of loves, or the most intense break-ups, people can still remain friends. Good friends. Let’s start!
1. Chris Martin & Gwyneth Paltrow
They married in 2003, and the two little cutie pies you see in the picture are their kids aptly called Moses and Apple. But they weren’t enough for Chris, the frontman of Coldplay and the beautiful actress to remain married happily ever after. In 2014, they announced that they are “consciously uncoupling,” but the two remained good friends since then and still spend time together, including going on holidays.
2. Demi Lovato & Joe Jonas

These two lovebirds first met on the set of Disney’s Camp Rock back in 2010. But in 2016, Joe made it public that they were dating no more, but that instead he and Lovato were “very friendly.” He even said that he considered her a part of the family.
3. Seal & Heidi Klum
If I was someone who believed in the so-called “law of attraction”, then I would say that Seal definitely got what he once imagined. Seal sang about getting a “Kiss From a Rose,” and lo and behold, he married the German beauty Heidi Klum in 2005. But it didn’t last long (did Seal sing too many sad songs?), and 7 years later, in 2012, the couple divorced. On the bright side, they were able to remain very good friends and still take good care of their four children.
4. Lady Gaga & Taylor Kinney

Could Gaga keep a “Poker Face” about Chicago Fire star, Taylor Kinney? Nope, she just couldn’t resist the guy. So the two started dating in 2011, right until 2016, when they were about to get engaged. But… Something happened, and they called it quits. Some time later, Lady Gaga said that they remained loving and still supported each other.
5. Bruce Willis & Demi Moore
This is one of those rare relationships when it’s better after the break-up than before it. The famous actors married in 1987 and had three daughters together: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. More than 20 years passed until they filed for divorce in 2009, but journalists would often photograph them together in public. Once, Willis admitted that he even enjoyed hanging out with Moore and her new husband, Kutcher, and that he only wishes her happiness.
6. Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber
The two began dating in 2010, but didn’t last more than two years – they broke up in 2012. Of course, as everyone knows, their relationship has been on and off again since then… What brought them together last time was Selena’s kidney transplant surgery earlier this year.
7. Chris Evans & Jenny Slate

The Captain America superhero spent merely a year with the star of the Obvious Child until they split amicably in February this year. This is what Evans had to say about Jenny:
“You find that you cannot help [but] to have respect for her. You spend five minutes with her and you cannot find something bad to say about her if you tried… You know, relationships are tricky; there are lot of moving pieces. But I am endlessly grateful for having met her. She will be in my life always.”
8. Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner

Affleck and Garner married in 2005 and had three children together, but they announced their separation ten years later, in 2015. Which was then followed by a divorce this year. The two, however, remained close and have been seen having dinner together.
9. Wilmer Valderrama & Demi Lovato
Valderrama, That ’70s Show actor and pop star Demi shocked everyone when they called it quits in 2016. After all, they had been together for 6 years, and everyone was expecting that they will perhaps put a ring on it. This year however, Lovato shared a picture of the two together on her Instagram, writing: “Best of friends no matter what.”
10. Justin Timberlake & Cameron Diaz

“Cry Me A River”? Well, he did, when he split with the actress in 2007, after a relationship of four years. In 2014 however, Diaz revealed that she was still close friends with most of her ex-boyfriends, mentioning Matt Dillon, Jared Leto and Justin Timberlake himself.
11. Cody Simpson & Gigi Hadid
The Australian singer and fashion model Gigi Hadid ended the relationship in 2015, after nearly two years of dating. If they can be believed, they said they wanted to focus on their careers more, but Gigi said that splitting up didn’t ruin their friendship: “We’re all still hanging out,” she said. “We’re super close and… Care about each other immensely.”
12. Bella Hadid & The Weeknd
The Victoria’s Secret runway model ran away from the flashy rapper in 2016, after being together for almost a year and a half. When they broke up though, both of them said that they intended to remain friends. And unlike most people who say stuff like that, the two, in fact, kept their words – and even celebrated important events together.
