Often in cinematography, the line between life and art gets blurry and magical things happen. Richard Burton met Elizabeth Taylor on the shooting of Cleopatra. Instantly, they were consumed with each other. Their relationship has to be one of the most dramatic relationships of the 20th century. Taylor was still married to Eddie Fisher when these two decided to entertain the idea of an affair. One day, they decided to rent all the rooms at the Old Drovers Inn and indulge in the clandestine escapades. They were later married and divorced. Twice!

2. Casa Kimberly

Come 1964, Burton was hired to play the role of reverend doctor T. Lawrence Shannon in The Night of the Iguana. Two years earlier, Taylor accompanied Burton and the film crew for principle photography in Puerto Vallarta. Burton bought land across the street from his own Mexican casita. He built Casa Kimberly right at that spot and connected the abodes with a bridge. Casa Kimberly remains a hotel to this very day.

3. Beverly Hills Hotel

The LA based, Sunset Boulevard hotel was witness to many a low-profile randezvous, especially in the Golden Hollywood Era. Surrounded by 12 lush, tropical gardens, celebrities like Clark Gable and Carole Lombard would spend time here in each other’s arms. Love in LA!

The 400 acre resort hotel saw the light of day in 1954, when 17 American entrepreneurs were persuaded to build their own cottage colony seven miles down the shore of Montego Bay. The rest is history. Paul Newman, Debbie Reynolds and Joan Crawford all walked down the crescent-shaped beach that gave this resort its name. Jacqueline and John F. Kennedy are just one of the many couples that visited this place.
