These 15 Tips Will Improve Your Manicuring Skills Dramatically

8-32

Manicuring is a real craft and lots of women find it too time-consuming or strength-sapping and decide to leave it to a professional.

If you are one of those that don’t give up easily or if you enjoy a challenge, you should know you can dramatically improve your manicuring skills if you have the right application and get the right advice.

Home manicuring saves you money and lets you spend time on you

That’s why today we share sixteen tips that will get you one step closer to a perfect home manicure.

1. Remove old nail polish

Soak the nails with remover and leave it on for a couple of minutes. It doesn’t matter what shade of nail polish/glitter you are wearing, you always need to remove it thoroughly before proceeding.

4. Apply cuticle oil

Cuticle oil will keep your cuticles looking smooth and healthy. Although not an absolute imperative for every manicuring session, your nails can only benefit from applying it as frequently as possible.

5. Base coat

Although it’s tempting to skip it, the base coat not only prevents your nails from staining but makes the polish more compact and long-lasting.

8. Apply nail wraps

Do not use your fingers – the oil will cause the wrap to not stick properly. Instead, apply it with tweezers, but be careful not to puncture it with the sharp tip.

9. Top coat

The top coat will give your nails a glossy/matte look, and it will also seal the polish. Re-apply every couple of days.

10. Expedited drying

If you just don’t have the time to wait for the polish to air dry, use a setting spray or an oil designed to expedite drying. Never ever use a fan – this will only create bubbles and creases.

11. The ice water method

Ice water hardens the top coat of nail polish so you can perform everyday tasks. It is a good method if you’re in a hurry, but be cautious – you’ll still be prone to smudging if you get too careless.
