Out of all sanitary products that exist, there’s one that we all use, and that’s toothpaste.

To put it simply, toothpaste is that… paste you use to clean your… teeth. Wow, such an imaginative and complex explanation, wouldn’t you agree?

Okay, I’m just kidding, toothpaste is an important sanitary product that cleans the excess food from our teeth and mouth in general, while also keeping our teeth in good health and making our breath smell nice.

But, did you know that toothpaste has lots of other household uses, not just being a product to clean your teeth? Here are some of those uses!

1. Cleaning tea/coffee stains

You can use toothpaste to clean up those ugly brown stains that sometimes cups and mugs develop. No more using the washing up liquid, and more importantly, no more comments from mom on the stained cups.

2. Polish silver

Give all of your silver cutlery a shine as if they were brand new.  Just scrub a little bit of paste on with a cloth.

3. Remove crayon marks

If your children are still quite young and like to scribble on the walls of their room with crayons, then toothpaste should do a good job of removing those crayon stains on the wall.

4. Fix CD scratches

While I have tried this in the past and it didn’t really seem to work, but maybe it will if you give it a try. It’s maybe because everything I touch seems to get ruined, physically and mentally.

Anyway, enough introspection. Just gently rub a little bit of toothpaste over the scratches and those skips that CDs have become famous for will be gone!

5. Deodorize baby bottles

Sometimes, old baby bottles tend to start smelling like sour milk after a few days, so to save yourself from constantly shelling out on a new one every few weeks or so, just pour some toothpaste, warm water and shake it. This will clean and refresh the bottle.

6. Use as caulk/filler

If you find a hole around your house, current or the one you’ve just moved into, don’t spend cash on expensive caulk or filler, or people to fix the wall for you, just use some toothpaste to fill in those holes!

7. Whiten those piano keys

Is your piano looking old and sullied due to yellow keys? Don’t worry, toothpaste can whiten them just like it does with your teeth, and make your piano look brand new in minutes!

8. Clean your shoes

New shoes don’t tend to look very new after you’ve worn them for a few days, especially if they have a white sole.

Just brush the edges using toothpaste and an old toothbrush and it will definitely perk them up.

9. Remove coaster marks

I’m sure you’ve fumed at least once in your life after seeing your guests put their mug on your table without a coaster and leaving a nasty brown stain.

Well, you shouldn’t, because that toothpaste gets rid of that as well.

10. Clean your iron

If you get black marks while ironing your clothes, and don’t have time to deep-clean the iron, rub some toothpaste on it et voila!

11. Clean chrome

Similarly to silver, ‘paste also has the prowess to clean chrome, which once again saves you from using expensive chemical chrome cleaners (that’s a lot of C’s!)

And if toothpaste isn’t yet enough of a multi-use product, it’s also proven to have great benefits in the beauty/cosmetic world:

12. Reduce spots

You might have heard about this before, but toothpaste is actually really good at drying up pimples that always seem to pop up at the worst times. Just go for white toothpaste and rub it on the spot to dry out the pimple.

13. Strengthens nails

Your nails and teeth are made out of the same substance, so it’s totally fine to brush your nails just like you brush your teeth. Toothpaste will make them shine and give them a little bit of strength.

14. Soothe bites and burns

Тhose burns and bites can definitely be a pain, so if you don’t want to go to the chemist or don’t have medication, dab a small amount on the wound and you’ll actually be surprised at how soothing it can be.

15. Hair dye

And finally, ‘paste does a very good job at removing those pesky stains that don’t seem to budge after you have dyed your hair. To make for a cleaner dye job, rub the hairline before dying, which should leave you with minimal stains and a professional color.

And those are some helpful uses for toothpaste besides just keeping your teeth in good health and making your breath smell minty fresh. Which one of these was your favorite? Let us know in the comments!
