Braids are ageless and timeless, young girls and older women in the distant past or even today can still look good with braided hair. It’s just a style without an expiration date and there’s so many different ways you can wear one.
We’ve collected some of the classics below…
- The braid with a twist
Brush your hair well, and leave it loose on your back. Then divide it into three sections.
Get the middle one and put it over the first (left) section.
Now take the first section and leave it under the second one, put it over the third.
Again you have three sections of hair, which you should continue to braid in the same way: get the second section and put it over the first one. Then get the first one and put it over the third.
Continue braiding the sections until you reach the end. Then secure with an elastic band.
2. The Romantic braid
Brush your hair well, then divide it into two main sections: a left one and a right one.
Now take two sections of hair from the two main sections. They should be the ones that are closer to your face, meaning the sections which are to the right and to the left. Take these two sections in the middle between the two main ones, and cross them.
Pull the two main sections a bit to make the braid tighter and repeat the previous step. Take two smaller sections from the right and the left parts closer to your face, and cross them in the middle between the two main sections of hairs.
Repeat the previous steps until all of your hair is braided.
3. The hair chain
Take three horizontal sections of hair, starting from your left. First put the third section of hair over the second one, and then put the first section of hair over the third one.
Repeat the previous step: placing the third section of hair over the second one, and the first over the third one.
Here comes the twist. Take a vertical section of hair, and include it in the braid. Put it over the second and third sections of hair, and then put the first section over this new one.
Once you have taken a new section of hair to put in the braid let the third one go.
Continue the same way by taking new sections of hair every two rows. And once the braid is done, secure it with some hair grips.
