So its Saturday and you’ve decided it’s high time to do a bit of cleaning round the house. You have your routine and you just want to get things done as quickly as possible the you can enjoy the rest of the day in a clean house.
But is your routine really as effective as you want it to be? Are you maximizing your time and getting the most out of your cleaning products?
We’ve done a bit of qualitative research and found that most people make the same small mistakes that costs them a lot of time .
Have a look and see if you fall prey to these easily fixable faults in your routine too.
1. You don’t follow the “top to bottom” rule.
When cleaning the whole room, you should start at the top first, as in dusting shelves and mantelpieces. The hoovering should be done last, otherwise you are just moving the dirt from one place to another.
2. You scrub spills out of carpet
By scrubbing you are simply rubbing the stain into the carpet fibres. Instead pour some soda water over the area and blot with a dry cloth.
3. Washing windows on a sunny day
Sunny days may show up dirty windows more, but if you tackle them on a sunny day then your cleaner can dry too quickly. This will cause more streaks and look worse than it did to begin with. Overcast days are better for cleaning windows.
