After 6 Miscarriages Connecticut Mom Gives Hope To Others With Explosive Rainbow Photoshoot

Jessica Mahoney from Connecticut is a mother-to-be for the second time.  Four years ago she had her firstborn child Corbin. Since then she has suffered six miscarriages. This proud mom is now in the eighth month of her pregnancy and decided to celebrate the “rainbow baby”. She sent a colorful message of hope to other mothers:

“Six babies lost to have the honor to carry this rainbow baby.”
“I hope my story helps someone else to know they are not alone, as the journey of loss and infertility is dark and lonely.”

The Mahoney couple asked JoAnn Marrero a birth and newborn photographer to do a rainbow-inspired photoshoot. The result was stunning. Marrero created a real colorful explosion using color smoke bombs with fog around Jessica.

The pictures became viral on the internet in no time and received many comments. Many mothers decided to share their emotions. Among them is Kim Howes Roman who wrote, “Stunning! Back when I had my 5 miscarriages, it wasn’t really talked about as it is today. God bless this family.”

“A rainbow baby is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravage of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it does not mean the storm never happened, or the family is still not dealing with its aftermath. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds.” wrote Pebbles and Polka Dots Photography.

According to the American Pregnancy Association, 10-25% of all clinically recognized pregnancies end in miscarriage during the first 20 weeks of pregnancy.
