Eight Ways In Which The Body Is Asking For Your Help

It often happens that you suddenly find yourself ill. But how is that possible? You were feeling fine just earlier today. Well, our bodies are complex things, and they have developed some rather sensitive ways to signal their discomfort to us.

1. Cramps in your legs

You know how you sometimes suddenly wake up in the middle of the night due to a sharp pain in the leg? Well, it’s what doctors call a cramp. And cramps happen because the affected area is not getting enough blood supply. At least, that’s the main cause. The other cause may be a compression of the nerves in your spine – which can happen after walking for too long.

2. Intense food cravings

The reason is a lack of essential nutrients, like an omega-3 deficiency for example, which can cause cravings for cheese. On the other hand, if your glucose levels are too low, you might crave sweets. A simple adjustment of diet can help a lot with these and get you back on track.

3. Persistently dry skin

This is normal during winter, but if it happens all year round, it could be an indicator that something’s wrong. The most common cause is having showers that are too hot. Next are certain detergents and soaps that can make your skin dry. Buy natural soap, or tone down on the hot showers. As a bonus: eat more seeds and nuts, they’re good for the skin.

4. A headache that won’t go away

Hydrating yourself does away with headaches most of the time, but sometimes it can be a different issue. Emotional stress is a frequent cause, which includes depression or anxiety. A secondary cause may be unhealthy sleeping habits and not enough rest. So, make sure you fix your sleeping.

5. Split hair ends

From the point of nutrition, it means that your body needs more healthy fats. These are usually found in certain vegetable oils and fish. Dyeing and excessive brushing can also damage your hair, and make its ends split.

6. Brittle fingernails

Hate to break it to you, but nail polish contains all those nasty acids that can cause nails to get brittle over time. Another reason is a diet low in vitamins and minerals – so make sure to always consume those in healthy amounts.

7. Bad breath

Another way of your body trying to tell you there’s something wrong. Either brush your teeth more often, avoid smelly foods, or drink more liquids. Dry mouths are smellier. If the issue persists, be sure to visit the doctor, as it may be an issue with your digestive system.

8. Belly bloating

A common symptom, bloating can be the cause of simply eating too fast. So slow down when you chow down. Usually, it’s foods that are rich and fatty that cause bloating, because they digest slower.
