Anorexia is a psychological eating disorder and a life-threatening disease. At least 30 million people of all ages and genders suffer from an eating disorder in the U.S. To demonstrate how serious it is, let’s look at it this way: According to anad.org, or Eating Disorder Statistics, every 62 minutes (that’s sixty-two minutes, people) at least one person dies from an eating disorder. Eating disorders have the highest mortality rates of ANY mental illness.
Many people who have been through it call the experience a living hell. But the others that managed to beat the illness and gain weight again say that it’s like regaining their life again.
