Beyonce took to Instagram on February 1, 2017 to announce her pregnancy with the twins that broke the internet. She showed off her baby bump loud and proud by wearing a lacy bra.
Demi Lovato’s sober anniversary
Demi has been struggling with substance abuse and eating disorder in the past so when she took to Instagram to share that she’s sober for five years now, makes us adore her even more.
“I’m so proud of myself but I couldn’t have done it without my higher power (God), my family, friends, and everyone else who supported me,” the singer wrote on March 15. “Feeling humbled and joyful today. Thank you guys for sticking by my side and believing in me.”

Jessica Weber decided to use her Instagram to make an important point about the reality of weight loss:
“I love myself in clothes and I love my tummy outside of clothes!! All about self love here ❤️❤️ it’s crazy what clothes can hide but make sure that you love yourself regardless!! I lost 190 pounds and this is my loose skin left over!” Weber wrote in one post.
She shared that she will undergo skin removal surgery in the coming months.

Tennis superstar Serena, broke the internet when she appeared nude and pregnant on the cover of Vanity Fair in August. She also picked up her 23rd Grand Slam title in January while she was 20 weeks pregnant. A goddess!
Selena Gomez’s kidney transplant
Selena Gomez shared the reason of being out of the public eye in September; she needed a kidney transplant.
“It was what I needed to do for my overall health,” she wrote of the procedure on Instagram. She made sure to also share how grateful she is to her friend Francia Raisa who donated her kidney.

Ashley Graham always made sure to teach us how to embrace our bumps and cellulite, but an artist named Zinteta took this step a little bit further by highlighting her stretch marks with body paint.
“Society sees these things as flaws, but they aren’t flaws—they are things in our bodies and we have to accept them,” she told People Magazine in an interview. “Because if we don’t accept them, we probably don’t accept our bodies and don’t accept ourselves.”

Recently, the Sports Illustrated has recruited a more diverse group of woman for its annual SI Swim issue. But this year’s pic definitely took the cake. The brand brought two best friends Kate and Gerogia, with different body types that definitely celebrates the meaning of beauty.

Lane Bryant is spot-on with their body positive campaigns and this year wasn’t different when the famous figures like Ashley Graham, Danielle Brooks etc, got in front of the camera to open up about their “flaws”. They pointed out that there is no such thing as a “perfect” body.
“The truth is, my booty has its own zip code,” says Brooks in the video, “and I’m okay with that!”

Kandice Benford started getting vitiligo when she was 18-years-old, a condition that causes skin to lose pigment cells. Years later, with her wedding coming along, her condition got worse. She tried to cover up with patches but then decided to simply embrace herself by wearing only a light layer of makeup.
“I can honestly say having vitiligo has made me a stronger person, and more confident in myself,” Benford told People. “I love it, it makes me unique.”

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is known for casting only women with very thin bodies. That’s why model Tabria Majors used Instagram to prove that the women of all shapes and sizes can rock lacy lingerie.

Alopecia makes it to reality television
Alopecia is an autoimmune condition that causes temporary or permanent hair loss, so dating can be tough for women sometimes. However, Eva Betts, a British woman, chose to embrace her baldness for the world by removing her wig and explaining to him why she’s hairless.
“One of the reasons I wanted to do beauty is because I went through school being bullied,” she said of her career as a beautician. “You know, you don’t have any eyebrows. I don’t remember ever feeling upset about it, apart from now. It’s really hard, it’s really hard.”
Miss Minnesota USA crowns a winner with Down’s Syndrome
Mikayla Holmgreen became the very first woman with Down’s Syndrome to compete in Miss Minnesota and her gutsy move introduced a whole new beauty standard. She went home with two awards that night.
“I want to show my personality. I want to show what my life looks like, being happy, and joyful. I want to show what Down syndrome looks like,” she told People.
