It seems like love does not know of age and years. Being married for 60 years seems like a fairytale for some people, but for this couple, it is reality. This Brazilian couple said ‘I do’ in a simple backyard ceremony in 1957, and loved each other endlessly ever since. Dona Rosa and Seu Russo enjoyed living together ever since, but they don’t have a photo proof of their wedding. They weren’t photographed, so a group of artists in São Paulo decided to surprise them with a second wedding and a set of photographs they truly deserved.
The couple only held the dear memory of their marriage until photographers Vivian and Dávid Balatonfüredi from Sao Paulo Fotografia came along.
They helped the couple mark their 60-year anniversary.
Their celebrant, who also helped them renew their vows, Fernanda Caetano shared the story on her Instagram page.
She also revealed how special this second wedding was, as they got to share it with their nine children, 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
So, a wedding dress designer, a local florist and tailor prepared everything for the beautiful day.
A decorator also captured the essence of their original wedding, with an outside ceremony with vintage and romantic details. The happy couple said ‘I do’ for the second time at Chácara Terra Prometida, an event space near São Paulo with a name that translates to Promised Land Farm.
Their first wedding was truly simple.
Rosa’s dress was made by her godmother, and the couple’s cake was baked by an aunt. But it wasn’t like that this second time. The clothes looked like they were taken straight from the ’50s, as did a red truck alongside which the couple posed.
The bride’s dress was made by Campos Atelier.
Also, the groom’s three-piece suit — gray, with a plaid vest and suspenders — came from Villa Roma.
As you can see in the photos, the couple look very much in love, although 60 years have passed.
They are looking at each other with wide smiles, holding hands and leaning closely together.
Here is their story in a video which São Paulo Fotografia shared online. You can see Dona on her second walk down the aisle.
