We already mentioned several celebs who have some blue blood running in their veins. Now we come back for more! Check out these 8 famous people who are in some way connected to a royal family, courtesy of Vogue.
1. Hilary Duff and Queen Elizabeth II
Hilary Duff is apparently the most royal American in existence. The actress, who became a teen idol with the character of Lizzie McGuire, is Queen Elizabeth II’s 18th cousin. It’s something!
2. Beyoncé and Queen Elizabeth II
Turns out she isn’t called Queen Bey for nothing: Beyoncé actually is royalty. According to CBS News, she is the 25th cousin, once removed, of Queen Elizabeth II!
3. Johnny Depp and Queen Elizabeth II
Johnny Depp and the Queen share a common ancestor. They are both descended from King Edward III of England, who lived in the 14th century. That makes them 20th cousins!
4. Madonna, Céline Dion, and Camilla Parker Bowles
Two of the biggest divas of the music stage could technically be called Prince Charles’s in-laws! Madonna and Céline Dion are both descended from the same prominent 17th-century French-Canadian family as Camilla, the heir apparent’s wife.
5. President George W. Bush and Princess Diana
The family who once led the United States of America is related to the one that leads the United Kingdom. George and Jeb Bush are 11th cousins, twice removed, of Lady D.
6. Ellen DeGeneres and Kate Middleton
Ellen is related to the Duchess of Cambridge through Sir Thomas Fairfax, a 17th century English nobleman. When the talk show host discovered the connection she tried to use it to her advantage: she attempted to arrange a meeting with Prince George! And who can blame her?
“I saw that picture of Prince George in his robe with President Obama and I’m like, ‘I have a clothing line [ED by Ellen]; I can give him clothes; I can make a special robe for him,’” Ellen said for a British tabloid. She continued, “I don’t know why they don’t want to get in good with me because I’m like a gravy train for that kid.”
7. Guy Ritchie and Kate Middleton
The English filmmaker is actually quite close to Kate Middleton: he was invited to her wedding to Prince William in 2011. The two of them are sixth cousins.
8. Ralph Fiennes and Prince Charles
The actor and the future King are eighth cousins. They are descendants of King James II who ruled Scotland in the 15th century.
While there’s no way that any of these celebs will ever get to wear a crown, it’s fascinating how far back their ancestry can be traced. And it’s always nice to find out that you have more family scattered around the world, no matter how far away they may live.
