You know, when it comes to relationships sometimes we need a break. Even though it might not be the most common tactic some couples become even stronger after a split. Even the royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton took a break from each other before getting married in one of the biggest ceremony of all time. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with taking a time out from your relationship just to figure things out, get your priorities straight and get reminded how much you love your lover. Below you will see some high-profile pairs that broke up before getting married.
1. Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade
The couple got married in 2009 and quietly took a break between January and April 2013. During the time, Dwayne feathered a child with another woman but during an appearance on The Tonight Show last year, he confirmed that they were reunited again.
“We kind of took a step back. We supported each other, but we took a step back for a little while. At the end of day, we came back together and said, ‘Listen, we want to continue this. We want to try to continue to get better each day.'” They got remarried in September 2014.

2. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel
Justin Timberlake and Jessica began dating back in the 2007. They split up in 2011 and then got married in October 2012. They welcomed their first baby boy Silas in April 2015.

3. Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo
After a year of dating, Adam took a break with Behati in 2013 and then began hooking up with Nina Agdal who was another Victoria Secret Angel. Adam broke up with her via a text message after a vacation in Mexico. He managed to text Nina though in 2013 to tell her that he and Behati got engaged. A year later they tied the knot and welcomed their first daughter Dusty Rose in 2016.

4. Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler
They began dating in 2010 and broke off in July 2011. Months later, Kristin tweeted that the wedding was on and they got married in 2013. Now they have two sons and one daughter.

5. Sam Hunt and Hannah Lee Fowler
For about 10 years, Sam and Hannah dated on and off before rekindling their romance in 2016.
“I think last Summer I went out [to Hawaii] about seven times in about three months . . . trying to talk to her about coming back,” Sam said, adding, “And the seventh trip I convinced her.” They got engaged and married in 2017.

Audrina married the BMX rider in November 2016 after welcoming their daughter Kirra. They had been dating on and off since 2008 until they got engaged in 2015.

Nicole and Michael began dating in 2007 and took a break in 2011. They got reunited in 2014 and got engaged a year later by welcoming also their son Boomer and married the following month in 2016.

When they first met at a Christmas party in 1998 they started dating shortly after. Jessica broke things off to focus on her singing career and then reconciled following the September 11 attacks. They tied the knot in 2002 but parted ways in 2005.

Four years before the royal couple tied the knot they decided to split in April 2007. The Clarence House didn’t comment about the relationship by saying: “We don’t comment on Prince William’s private life.”
