What Happens When Celebs Give Other Celebs Advice? Armageddon.

It’s always fun when celebrities offer other celebrities words of advice, probably because often said pearls of wisdom turn out to be, well, slightly on the crazy side. Perhaps they start out with good intentions, but we all know what the road to hell is paved with. No-one is going to be grateful for unsolicited advice, especially when it’s dished out publicly and is the cause of great embarrassment. Which is why instead of doing good, these celebs, intentionally or not, sometimes start feuds, and the exchanges of harsh words provide us with endless entertainment. Let’s admit it, we are a bit twisted like that; who doesn’t love a bit of drama?

Here we have seven celebrities whose advice wasn’t accepted very graciously, courtesy of Ranker.

1. Frances Bean Cobain to Lana Del Rey

Frances Bean Cobain is the daughter of musicians Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain. Kurt, the lead singer of rock band Nirvana, committed suicide when he was just 27 years old. Which is why it’s understandable that Frances would have a strong reaction to Lana Del Rey saying in an interview with The Guardian that she wishes she “was dead already” when she was asked how she felt about musicians who die young.

Cobain took to Twitter to express her outrage, “I’ll never know my father because he died young, and it becomes a desirable feat because people like you think it’s ‘cool.'”

Del Rey later claimed that she was drunk and that she was tricked into saying that during the interview. The singer assured the public that she did not wish herself dead.

2. Ellen Pompeo to Daniel Craig

The star of Grey’s Anatomy, Ellen Pompeo didn’t really like Daniel Craig being overdramatic when he claimed that he would rather slit his wrists than do another James Bond movie. In a very calm and collected manner, Pompeo suggested that Craig needed to calm down. The actress tweeted, “that dude needs a reality check,” linking an article containing the British actor’s quote.

3. Courtney Love to Amanda Bynes

When Amanda Bynes had her public breakdown in 2013, Courtney Love was there to lend a helping hand. She was so worried about the young actress that she even offered to pay for her treatment. Love decided that the best method of communication would obviously be Twitter, so in a truly thoughtful manner, she suggested to Bynes to “pull it together dude.” Somehow, Bynes didn’t really appreciate this, responding by calling the elder star “the ugliest woman” she’d ever seen.

4. Sinead O’Connor to Miley Cyrus

In 2013, Miley Cyrus confessed to the The Rolling Stone magazine that one of her major inspirations growing up was Sinead O’Connor’s video for Nothing Compares 2 U. Not long after, the Irish singer wrote Cyrus a letter warning her about the future and what would befall her if she continued behaving in such a crazy way. This is what O’Connor wrote:

“The music business doesn’t give a sh*t about you, or any of us. They will prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think it’s what YOU wanted… and when you end up in rehab as a result of being prostituted, ‘they’ will be sunning themselves on their yachts in Antigua, which they bought by selling your body and you will find yourself very alone.”

5. Chloë Grace Moretz to Kim Kardashian

In 2016, Kim Kardashian posted yet another naked selfie. Was anyone surprised? I shouldn’t think so. However, one person who didn’t agree with Kim’s ways and wasn’t afraid to share her thoughts was Chloë Grace Moretz. She tweeted, “I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than… just our bodies.”

But this didn’t seem to change Kim’s opinion on naked selfies, as this is how she responded, “Let’s all welcome @ChloeGMoretz to twitter, since no one knows who she is. your nylon cover is cute boo”

6. Courtney Love to Britney Spears

Britney Spears may have restored her successful career in recent years, but she has been through some dark patches. One person who noticed that the singer was in trouble was Courtney Love (again?). In 2008, Love told the TV show Access Hollywood that Spears “definitely needs help.” Love continued explaining that she’d been there, done that, and adding that “if she [Britney] doesn’t get help something very, very bad is going to happen.”

7. Joan Rivers to Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence is famous for refusing to lose weight for a role, to diet, or for criticizing the Photoshopping of her pictures. So it was hardly surprising when the actress made some comments about Joan Rivers’ show Fashion Police, saying that it gives viewers “all the wrong values and that it’s OK to point at people and call that ugly or fat.”

Joan Rivers was not happy at all with those remarks, and she told the New York Post, “My New Year’s resolution is [ensuring] Jennifer Lawrence grows up and realizes how lucky she is and calms down.” She added, “I love that she’s telling everyone how wrong it is to worry about retouching and body image, and meanwhile she’s been touched up more than a choir boy at the Vatican. Look at her posters. She doesn’t have a nose. She has two holes. She just has to learn. Don’t talk if you’re doing it.”
