Former ‘Two And A Half Men’ star Charlie Sheen was diagnosed with HIV in 2015, which may be how he got to know some other celebrities that had the same diagnosis.
He publicly confessed about his diagnosis in late 2015, after being blackmailed by his exes in order to keep it secret.
In a recent interview, the 51-year-old told The Kylie and Jackie O Show that he knows quite a few other actors and celebrities who were unlucky enough to suffer from the virus.
Jackie ‘O’ Henderson decided to ask about other Hollywood actors that would dare to speak out about their diagnosis with this incredibly dangerous virus.
“Do you think there are more people in Hollywood that have HIV that wouldn’t dare come out and say it like you did?”
Sheen said that he knew a lot of fellow Hollywood residents who had the same diagnosis, but he was reluctant to speak who they actually were.
It definitely takes a strength to admit a weakness or illness, especially when it’s something as serious as Sheen’s condition. In 2013, for example, 1.2 million people in the US lived with HIV and modern medicine is still battling the virus, with doctors and patients around the globe hoping that it will finally be eradicated.
This is the interview with Charlie Sheen on the TODAY show where he reveals that he suffers with HIV.
“I know who they are, but I will take that to my grave.”
Our hopes go out to Charlie Sheen and all other people in the world who are suffering with this burden. In this light, it’s quite understandable why some people choose to keep it a secret, especially when it’s their job to entertain an audience, while unfortunately, they’re faced with a stigma that still exists today.
