Despite fans’ high hopes, Kanye West did not appear at this year’s Coachella. For a while, it has been rumored the rapper, who hasn’t performed since November, would make a comeback at the festival last weekend. It was not to be, and some reports put the blame firmly at Kim Kardashian’s door.
“She’s pleading with him to stay away from Coachella,” an insider stated. “She fears for her husband’s health and well-being, so she’s been encouraging him to avoid the wild music festival. Kim knows Kanye is still sensitive and fragile after his rough year.”
Kanye showed up at Coachella last year, jumping on stage with A$AP Rocky. He headlined the raucous California Festival back in 2011
The celebrity couple are still dealing with a difficult year which has included Kim being robbed in Paris and Kanye’s UCLA Medical Center hospitalization
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival takes place over two weekends, April 14–16 and April 21–23, in the Colorado Desert’s Coachella Valley
Multiple sources at the festival told TMZ there were no plans for the singer to make an appearance as Kim didn’t think he was strong enough for so much excitement and action
Beyoncé was originally supposed to headline the festival this year but was forced to withdraw at the advice of her doctors after she became pregnant. She will instead headline in 2018
