Love can be found in the most unlikely places and this couple who are set to tie the knot proved it once again that it’s true. Their little romance took place on Twitter.
A girl named Madison O’Neill, just put out a last minute call for a wedding date. The Ames, Iowa based lady’s now-fiancée, Chuck Dohrmann, had a quick response for her, even though they didn’t actually know each other at the time,
Madison sent out a tweet two years ago that read: “So hmu [hit me up] if you wanna be my date to a wedding tomorrow,” followed by several smiley faces.
Remarkably, her now-fiancée responded to her invitation, messaging her: “Dude I’ll be your date to a wedding!”
The pair is now engaged after going on a wedding date together two years ago.
Here’s the original tweet:
Madison revealed that at first she hesitated after receiving a response from Chuck since she was pretty “nervous” about going with him to a wedding. But they had gone to the same high school and when they ended up going to the wedding together, things started to quickly hit off.
Chuck also had to call sick at work in order to make it out to the wedding. Madison shared some pictures on Twitter with Chuck down on one knee, writing: “crazy how things work out.”
She explained: “That wedding was our first date over 2 years ago and we just got engaged last week.”
This is how the conversation went back then.
“We went to the same high school but he was a grade older and I always thought he was obnoxious. But we didn’t actually know each other.”
Madison also revealed that chuck got down on one knee in San Diego and she is moving with him there next summer. This story went viral on social media as many described it as “amazing.”
One wrote “This is crazy. But amazing, at the same time. Fate works in crazy ways,’ while another added: ‘Love and romance truly is alive.”
Another added: “I love hearing stories like this. Congratulations to the both of you.”
Madison claimed that the wedding had been their first date over two years ago also adding that she thought that Chuck was obnoxious at high school.
It is really crazy how things work out. And sometimes you have to go the extra mile, like Chuck admitted that he did:
