Courtney Stodden Still Lives With Doug Hutchison After Divorcing Him, But She Has Big Plans For The Future

When reality show contestant and singer Courtney Stodden married actor Doug Hutchison back in 2011, it was one of the hottest topics of the year. At the time of their Las Vegas marriage, Courtney was just sixteen years old and Doug was 50.

The couple’s romance was an exclusively virtual affair for the first six months after meeting at an online acting workshop ran by Doug. The Delaware-born actor only found out Courtney’s real age after the two met in person after half-a-year. Soon after, they met in person and it didn’t take long for Doug to learn about Courtney’s real age.

Although Hutchison initially wanted to end the relationship upon finding out Stodden’s age, he reconsidered the decision once Courtney’s mom gave him her blessing. Reportedly, Ms. Stodden was convinced her ‘devoutly Christian’ daughter was capable of making the right decisions on her own, in spite of her age.

“Doug is wonderful,” Courtney told Us Weekly in 2011. “He picks up my coffee beans that I spill on the floor. He picks up my foundation. He picks up my feathers from my big robe that I wear. My high heels are all over. I have a wonderful life, a wonderful husband.”

The singer has made the most out of finding herself in the spotlight – she has worked as an actress, model, recording artist and became a national spokesperson for PETA, the animal rights activist organization. She and Hutchison have appeared on Good Morning America, E! News and VH1’s Couples Therapy.

In addition to being known for the lewd photos of herself she regularly shares online, she has released an infamous sex-tape in 2015 in collaboration with Vivid Entertainment. Previously, she had starred on the 12th season of Celebrity Big Brother and appeared in 50 Cent’s Don’t Worry Bout It music video.

Back in 2013, rumors abounded that the couple was considering divorce due to the age difference. However, by mid-2014, they announced that they have reconciled and were planning to renew their vows.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child in the summer of 2016, but in July, three months in her pregnancy, Courtney unfortunately suffered a miscarriage. In an interview with Us magazine, the 22-year-old reality star opened up about dealing with the ’emotional loss’ of losing a child.

“It’s a bittersweet time for me right now. I’m dealing with a lot of stress and emotions surrounding life and its ups and downs,” she told the magazine. “Doug and I weren’t planning on going public with this so soon. I’m only four weeks along in my pregnancy. But some things are out of your control.”

After some difficult months following the miscarriage, it was reported the couple split after six years of marriage in January 2017.

“They split a couple of months ago but they’re still living together,” an insider told ET at the time. “They’re still friendly. There’s no bad blood. Courtney wants to focus on herself and her career.”

In April, Courtney threw a massive divorce party at Crazy Horse III Gentlemen’s Club in Las Vegas

“I’m really excited to let my hair down and be single and learn and grow. And my brand, to be immersed in that,” the Washington State-born singer told the Las Vegas Review Journal about the future plans.
