Sometimes you have to be blunt and pull no punches, even if the person you’re talking to – is exactly who you have a problem with. Recently, this kind of bravery was perfectly exemplified by Debra Messing – who blasted E! – while talking to E!

As PageSix reported, it was all about her displeasure at how the network covered the Golden Globes this Sunday. Giuliana Rancic, the E! network reporter, made the mistake of asking the star of Will & Grace as to why she was wearing black.
And Debra didn’t mince words, she slammed on the reporter hard!
“Time is up and we want diversity, we want intersectional gender parity, we want equal pay,” she said. “I was so shocked to hear that E! doesn’t believe in paying their female co-hosts the same as their male co-hosts.”
Perhaps this is not so surprising since it was just last month when the longtime “E! News” host Catt Sadler said she is leaving the network due to inequality. It turned out that her male co-host, Jason Kennedy, was getting a salary that was almost twice as big as hers. To quote her words: “close to double the salary for the past several years.”
Debra Messing pointed that out too:
“I miss Catt Sadler, so we stand with her. That’s something that can change tomorrow. We want people to start having this conversation that women are just as valuable as men.”
The reporter, however, found herself a poor target for those particular accusations. She made it clear that she agreed with Messing, saying:
“Absolutely. That’s really what this movement is all about. We have an amazing platform here. There are a lot of big great voices here tonight who can speak on behalf of [people] who don’t have these voices.”
