The Stunning Jewelry Kate Middleton Inherited From Princess Diana

So, the Duchess of Cambridge is constantly being compared to Princess Diana and after all, being a part of the royal family means that people will be watching you very carefully.

What we’ve noticed over the years is that the two are very similar, especially in their fashion sense and taste in jewelry. This is the reason why we are not so surprised that Kate is seen wearing the pieces she inherited from Diana.

According to the Telegraph, Diana’s Letter of Wishes said: “But I would like you to allocate all my jewelry to the share to be held by my sons, so that their wives may, in due course, have it or use it. I leave the exact division of the jewelry to your discretion.”

Engagement Ring

Back in 1981, Diana was gifted this House of Garrard designed ring surrounded by a cluster of 14 solitaire diamonds set in white and gold by Prince Charles. So, when Prince William wanted to propose to Kate, he chose this one to serve as her engagement ring.

The Lover’s Knot Tiara was made with the diamonds and pearls the royal family owned in 1914. The tiara was given to Diana by Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding present. When Kate joined the family, she inherited the piece and wore it to some formal occasions.

It is more than clear that Diana had a thing for sapphire stones and these earrings were her favorite ones. In 2010 William gave them to Kate who updated them. The earrings match her sapphire engagement ring perfectly.

The pearls you see Diana wearing was designed back in 1988 by Nigel Milne. Even though this one wasn’t as iconic as some of the other pieces, the jeweller was very surprised when he saw Kate wearing the bracelet during a reception at Berlin’s Clärchens Ballhaus on their final night of their royal tour of Germany in July 2017.

Through the years, Kate has been given a lot of other pieces from the family members including a gold charm bracelet with a “C” on both sides of the coin. This was a wedding gift from Camilla Parker Bowles, her step-mother-in-law.
