The Disney mania is never getting old. However, adoring the Disney characters in terms of watching the movies all over again and visiting Disney World for the hundredth time is not all that fans do. Some go as far as designing Disney-inspired clothes and wear them on a daily basis. It’s called Disneybounding and it’s credited to blogger Leslie Kay, who dresses up like her favorite characters using everyday clothes. The trend isn’t new, actually. It first started picking up steam back in 2012 thanks to Kay’s Tumblr posts and it has become a real fashion trend ever since.
The Disneybounders are growing in number each day and they have some pretty talented and creative individuals in their ranks. They aim to add to the magic in Disney parks, aiming to make each one a happier place. Disneybounders have even made outfits inspired by Finding Nemo, which is amazing!
Would you like to become a Disneybounder, too? Read on to discover the beginning of this phenomenon and how it has evolved.

As you are probably well aware, Disney Parks have a rule against visitors dressing as Disney characters. However, Leslie’s passion for the Disney universe inspired her to search for a way to make things work and find a workaround. That’s how she created her own outfits inspired by Disney characters through accessorizing and color blocking.

What’s good about the trend is that you don’t need any fancy clothes and ball gowns with poofy shoulders to look like your favorite heroes and heroines. In fact, you can Disneybound right out of your closet. You just need to capture the color scheme. For instance, if you want to be Ariel, just go purple for your top and sea green down below.
