Draco Malfoy is actually a very nice guy. Does that sound like a contradiction? Tom Felton, who brought Harry Potter’s rival to life on the big screen is nothing like the slicked blonde sharp-tongued boy from the movie series. Malfoy has become almost synonymous with Felton, who won the Best Villain MTV Movie Award in both 2010 and 2011 for his portrayal, but the 29-year-old actor is much more than one dimensional.
Felton is quite busy outside of acting. He’s a talented and prolific singer-songwriter who released four EP’s between 2008 and 2011. Read up on what else Draco has been doing outside the wizarding world.
Before he was cast as Draco Malfoy, Tom played the curly-haired Peagreen Clock in The Borrowers – that’s one of the reasons why some Harry Potter fans have been calling him an undercover Weasley.
Before landing the part of Malfoy, Felton had auditioned for both the roles of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley!
Of all the child actors cast for the movie series, he was the most experienced one, having appeared in several films and television shows
“It’s definitely more fun playing a bad guy. It feels a lot better than playing one of the good guys,” he admitted
“I would miss months of school and then return with bright blond hair. Needless to say, there was bullying,” he once revealed in an interview. “I wasn’t beaten up daily, but there was name-calling and jealousy. You have to bear in mind that ‘Harry Potter’ wasn’t cool. I wasn’t part of the ‘Terminator’ franchise.”
His natural hair color is brunette
Speaking to Seventeen magazine in 2011, he revealed his taste in women: “I like the laid-back ladies. Looks are stressed so much these days, and a lot of girls feel they need to do all of these weird and wonderful things to look good, and they really don’t. The best-looking girls don’t do anything; they just sort of know they’re beautiful, especially in jeans and a hoodie.”
The first award Felton won was the Disney Channel’s Kids Awards for his work on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in 2003
He is an avid fisherman. In 2003, he helped found the World Junior Carp Tournament for youth between the ages of 11 and 18

Felton loves animals and took to Twitter when his companion Timber passed away a few years ago:
“Raise a wand, a glass and a smile to celebrate Timber’s life with us tonight. Post your favourite pictures of her with #timberlives so we can all look back at her wonderful life. Thank you xx @timberlives.”
