Pores may be the communication your skin has with your body, but sometimes, they are the place pimples start. They can be big, round, and all over your facial skin and when they are filled with dirt, sweat, or makeup, they easily turn into acne. Even if they don’t turn into acne, they can look ugly if they are too large. What exactly are pores and how can you get rid of them?
Pores house a hair follicle and sebaceous gland and serve as a gateway for sebum, our skin’s natural oil. They’re basically a tunnel that allows all these things to get to the surface whether we like it or not. However, it is very important for your face to get some daily sebum, otherwise, it will become dried out. So, we have something to thank our pores for. Pores can also grow and reduce in size. Sometimes, if your pores are getting bigger, it simply means they are clogged. If dirt, sweat, or makeup gets into the pore and clogs it up, the pore will stretch, giving it that larger appearance. Another factor contributing to pore size can be aging and sun damage. That’s why sunscreen is a must when it comes to keeping a healthy skin.
The sad truth is you can’t get rid of pores, as they are part of your genetics and your skin needs sebum. The happy news is, that you can still reduce them. You are probably familiar with the ritual of people steaming their faces to “open” their pores, but, they don’t open in this way.
Instead, here is a face mask that shrinks our pores and gives your skin a soft, youthful look. It also helps in getting rid of dark spots.

- Yogurt or curds
1. Put 1 tbsp. on yogurt into a bowl
2. Grate the lemon peel into the yogurt.

5. Finally, apply the mask with your fingers or your makeup brush.
