Stand-up comedian Charlie Murphy has passed away on April 12, 2017. He was aged 57 at the time of his death. He was well known as the elder brother of Eddie Murphy and he was also successful in his own right.
According to his manager, he had died after a long battle with leukemia, that morning in a New York hospital.

He had been undergoing regular chemotherapy prior to his death, and for a second, his family thought that he was going to overcome the awful disease.

At the height of his fame, the comedian had his own TV series on well-renowned funny-stuff TV channel Comedy Central called ‘Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories’, where he comically recalls his interactions with ’80s stars, like Prince and Rick James.
He also co-wrote some of his brother’s movies, such as Norbit and Vampire in Brooklyn. The saddest thing is that Charles’ wife, Tisha Taylor Murphy had also lost a battle to cancer, 8 years ago in 2009.
Even though some stories on the internet say otherwise, none of Charles’ relatives have died with him as well. They’re all alive and well and are currently all mourning the loss of the family member.
RIP to a comedy legend. He won’t be forgotten.
