Electric blue. No, not the obscure 1987 rock’n’roll song by Icehouse, I was talking about the color.
Electric blue is a relatively bright color. I would just start with my scientific explanations for this underrated color, but because you people REALLY seem to like that, I’m not going to.
I mean, you probably came here to see some party-ready makeup, and not read my philosophical explanations on what the hexadecimal value of the color blue is.
So, because of that, I’m going to show you an electric blue and gold eye makeup tutorial with Makeup Maniac by Linda.
I haven’t encountered Linda before, but after watching her video, I kinda wished I had. The video is excellent. Every single little thing that you see in the video, she tells us what it is. Yes, even the brushes.
If I do have one complaint, she doesn’t tell us where her contacts are from. Shame really, I would love to have gorgeous blue eyes like that.
Blue Blue Electric Blue… (another great tune!)
Damn… that’s amazing. Oh, sorry, I got distracted by that screenshot above this text. Don’t worry, I’m fine.
Well, I suppose I ought to tell you what she did, right?
She starts with applying the concealer to her eyes, as an eyeshadow base. She proceeds by applying the base eyeshadow, which is a sort of brownish color, then she applies the aforementioned electric blue, followed by a brighter blue to transition. The rest is all normal, a bit of highlighter here, some mascara there, and a little bit of lipstick at the end, just to complete the look.
The end results are, for lack of a better word, stunning. If you want to give this look a try, I fully support you. Just give the video a watch if you want to see how it’s done.
