How GoT Characters Differ In The TV Show Compared To George R. R. Martin’s Fantasy

2 (Custom)

When a book is made into a movie or a television series, there is always a certain amount of artistic leeway to be expected when the work of one artist is transformed into another medium by another one. And while the window of possibilities about how people could lookin the Godfather based on Mario Puzo’s book was not that great, fantasy literature is a whole other kettle of fish. The debate about the portrayal of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit characters in the movie franchises has gone on for years, and the same can be said about Harry Potter. Game of Thrones, the most popular TV show in recent years, has also not been immune to criticism; here, the sheer number of characters makes it even more difficult when it comes to authenticity, but compared to the noticeable changes in the plot compared to the book series, it seems as if the visual appearance of the characters have remained more or less true to the original.
