Getting tan and wearing bikinis is over for some time, but you can’t possibly forget the tan you got from the last flip flops you rocked at the beach. Flip flops are pure summer fun, but they are also a major water pollutant, especially in developing countries. The Philippines are, for example, notorious for discarding enormous amounts of these in the ocean. Sadly, this only worsens the situation on our planet, making it a dirtier lace to live and having less clean water each day. Luckily, a young construction worker from Manila, Philippines, is turning flip-flops into action figures. Never thought of something as weird as this? He is making history and already has thousands of fans!
To be able to make your own action figures is beyond impressive, but people were totally shocked by the fact that he uses flip-flops.
The Filipino amateur artist used old flip-flops to make these pieces of art.
The photos of his art were posted on a Facebook group dedicated to his art, and show Elmer Padilla cutting colorful flip-flops on a sidewalk using knives and scissors, and assembling them into intricate toys like Transformers, Predator and Marvel superheroes.
Actually, it was his friend, Adrian Bernabe, who shared the photos of his work. He then quickly went viral with almost 3 thousand shares.
Eventually, the photos reached Reddit, where they received a further 85 thousand upvotes.
The man is turning the dozens of worn-out flip flops he finds into wickedly cool action figures. How does one even think of that?
Elmer, a father of 2 daughters, lives in Manila but works as a construction worker in the village of Imus. There he has also set up a shop with his impressive foam creations.
Social media users are beyond impressed. People are now begging to know where and how they can buy these fabulous figurines.
Just from a glance you can see two versions of Bumblebee, the Predator, Hellboy, Deadpool, and Alien.
His children are so lucky!
