Nowadays, cars are more than just a way of getting around. They are a way of expressing your personality, and they also represent every other area to leave your stuff that isn’t the basement.
Like the basement, there are a lot of things you can do inside your car to keep it tidy and improve it in general.
Well, we found a guy with a very cool voice that will show you some car life hacks that will make your very car-centered life just that little bit nicer to live.
Here are 5 hacks that everyone who owns a car should know
1. Grease your seat belts
This one is quite useful. If your seatbelt is finding it hard to recoil (I don’t know how it would do that when it’s not a live creature with strength or feelings) then just grease the track that it slides on with some multi-surface polish. Wipe off the excess moisture and it should work like normal.
2. Makeshift cup holder
No cup holders to spare? No problem! All you need is a roll of duct tape or some blue masking tape. Unwind a small amount, but don’t rip it off, then attach that unwound bit to the dashboard or air vent or whatever area works for you, and put your cup inside the roll of tape. It really is that simple.
Admittedly, that’s not how it’s used in the video below, but that method works if you are the driver.
3. Dust the air vents
The air vents in the car can get quite a bit dusty, and when the air conditioning/heater is on, it’s basically blowing all that dust directly back at you. This might explain why you sneeze a lot more while driving.
To get around this, you can use sponge brushes, as they are just the right size and shape to really get inside the vent to clean it up real well.
4. Makeshift GPS stand
If you use your phone as a GPS in your car (which is actually a good idea, if you don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on GPS systems that don’t always work) you probably want somewhere to put it.
If that’s the case, you can make a GPS holder for free! Just take an elastic band and loop it through the air vent so that it sticks out from the bottom. Then strap your phone in, and you’re done!
5. Clear windows
The windows in your car can get quite misty, and it only gets worse when you try to wipe them down. The way to get your windows crystal clear is by wiping them down with a pair of socks filled with cat litter. Yes, really.
Get some old socks, preferably ones that don’t have holes, fill them with cat litter and wipe away. As cat litter is designed to get rid of moisture, your windows should be squeaky clean after this.
