Seems Like Blake Lively’s Met Gala Outfit Had A Secret Tribute To Her Husband

The Met Gala was outstanding this year as well, with the theme being Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. Celebrities, this year too, tried (and succeeded) to look their best. One could really say that a renaissance painting had come to life in the Met Gala carpet.

Catholic art and culture were represented by celebrities in each corner of the event. Rihanna, for instance, with her ‘stylish pope’ appearance, or Cardi B as the Immaculate Conception. Everything seemed surreal. I mean, Katy Perry’s huge wings were the detail to definitely catch the eye.

One dress that looked particularly gorgeous was the dress Blake Lively showed up wearing. The elegance, the detail, everything seemed simply stunning.

It has been said that the embroidered bodice took over 600 hours to create. But there is something even more special that people have failed to notice in Blake Lively’s look.

The 30-year-old actress was carrying a unique clutch bag which had a tribute to her loving family. The clutch was encrusted with jewels and it was customized in a personal manner. The Judith Leiber Seamless Sacred Heart clutch was decorated with the crest of the Reynolds family and around the crest were four first initials of her family members – B, R, J, and I.

B and R referred to, as you may guess, Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds. The J and I stood for James and Ines, the couple’s two children.

Although Ryan was missing from the Met Gala event, he was still, somehow, there. In the clutch, heh.

This year was Blake’s ninth time that she attended the Met Gala event, and it’s important to note that in each of the events she looked like a stunning lady full of grace. But Blake has claimed that the 2018 Met Gala dress was her ‘favourite dress ever.’

Lively also talked to Women’s Wear Daily about her accessories and details, saying:

“I just sent Lorraine Schwartz and Christian Louboutin my dress, and said, ‘Ok let’s do something special.’

They’re making something custom for it. So it’s kind of nice, because I have a bunch of artists around me who I have direct relationships with. It’s sort of a group effort with that.

I rely on people who do that for a living rather than outsourcing it to someone else.”

Blake is iconic, the clutch and her appearance are iconic as well, oh and also Ryan’s tweets are quite, quite iconic. So, seems like an iconic family to me.
