The Oldest Game Of Thrones Theory Might Actually Happen

It’s pretty rare that fan theories ever come to fruition and you start thinking that directors and writers genuinely read them and decide to do the complete opposite to make sure people’s hopes are broken down. But, a certain Game of Thrones theory could actually become true and if it does, things might get even more epic.

Also, if you don’t like spoilers, it was nice meeting you. Bye-bye.

Soon, the series will come to an end, leaving fans with a hole in their heart, only to seek comfort in a DVD boxset and reliving the brilliance that once lit up their lives.

The HBO showrunners, David Benioff and D.B Weiss always knew how the show would end and have done an amazing job retelling the original story of George R. R. Martin.

When the show was in its third season, Reddit OneEyedCheshire submitted their Lightbringer theory where they focus on the prophecy of Azor Ahai. According to the plot, the prophecy states that in order to save the world from White Walkers, Azor Ahai (a second coming of the mythical figure) will have to forge a special sword (Lightbringer) and drive it through the heart of the one he loves. Since the full theory is in so much depth, you can read it down below:

For those of you who can’t be arsed, OneEyedCheshire put in a “too long, didn’t read” summary:

“Winterfell is Lightbringer. Dany is Nissa Nissa. Jon Snow will be reborn of salt and smoke and become Lord of Winterfell, thus becoming Azor Ahai.

“A love story between him and Dany will develop, but he will end up joining Dany’s soul (her last child, Drogon) to Winterfell to reforge Lightbringer and fight back the Others, thus giving Dany her third betrayal and giving the series a bittersweet ending.”
