Sorry to disappoint you ladies, but actor Kit Harington is all taken and already on his way to get married. The 30-year-old heartthrob started dating his on-screen love Rose Leslie, who happens to be the same age as him, back in 2012, although they broke up about a year after. However, they realized they were true soulmates and have just announced last month that they are officially engaged. The Game of Thrones actors look more than happy and head-over-heels, but there is some bad news for the show fans, too. The show might have to stop production because of these cuties’ wedding. What?! Are we going to wait until 2020 for the last season? I’m sobbing at just the thought of it.
The couple actually took out a wedding announcement in their hometown newspaper of the Times in England. The official announcement read, “MR. K.C. HARINGTON AND MISS R.E. LESLIE. The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughters of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.” I am crying here! So classy!
While the beloved fans wait for the concluding 8th season to start and find out what happens when the White Walkers march south, Kit is all romantic. Harington, who plays the starring role as Jon Snow, recently announced that he wants to make sure that he has enough time to enjoy his wedding for the media.
He revealed on The Jonathan Ross Show that the show will stop production so that he and Rose can tie the knot. How sweet! “I rang [the producer] up and I said, ‘I’m getting married and it’s your fault, actually.” I think for the final season he is so stressed that he’s reached that peaceful level.
“I was like, ‘You need to factor in a Game of Thrones wedding by the way.’ They [the cast] have all got to be there so the whole thing has got to shut down.”
Some have already started imagining them having a Game of Thrones wedding, with costumes and everything. Kit could don his trademark black fur coat and suit of armor. Rose could wear a Wildling-inspired white fur dress.
But let’s not imagine stuff that probably won’t happen, as Kit explained: “There is absolutely no chance of me convincing [Rose] of that.”
Kit has also revealed that the proposal didn’t exactly go according to plan. He talked to The Sun. “I was going to string up some lights in some trees and do all the romantic stuff, but we were in the country and we were under this beautiful night sky. And had a log fire burning and red wine and I blew my load early.
“Sorry, that’s a really bad expression”.
“I was meant to do it the day after with the lights. What I meant to say was, I popped my question a bit early. Not blew my load.”
So awkward! But he was just using the perfect moment, although it wasn’t romantic at all. And we love it!
