You are probably surprised whenever you see some of his famous meals, but what will definitely shock you is chef Goron Ramsay’s lifestyle and physique. The 50-year-old British celebrity chef, who is currently promoting his documentary Gordon Ramsay on Coke, is definitely a sportsperson. He left his followers astonished when he uploaded an Instagram snap of himself after a triathlon, on October 14. It was shocking for his fans that he had such a fit body at 50, but if you have been following him, you would know that he is a real cycling fan.
He posted the snap after he completed a triathlon, which, for those that don’t know, is “a multiple-stage competition involving the completion of three continuous and sequential endurance disciplines”.
The father-of-four is never a shy guy, so he didn’t really have a problem posing topless for the camera. The celebrity chef has often been quite open about his health. “My father passed at 53 [years old] with a heart attack,” he told Delish in 2016. “My brother’s an addict, so I’ve got that scare-mongering going on, on a weekly basis, that I need to stay fit.”
Those are not his only reasons why he has such a toned physique, however. In an interview, he also admitted: “I don’t think it’s a good advert for any restaurant, a fat chef, and secondly, who wants to eat a dessert when the chef’s a fat pig?”
“When you’re a chef, you graze. You never get a chance to sit down and eat … So when I finish work, the first thing I’ll do, and especially when I’m in New York, I’ll go for a run. And I’ll run 10 or 15km, and I run to gain my appetite.” he added.
He continues. “Running started as a way of relaxing. It’s the only time I have to myself. No phones, e-mails or faxes,” says the celebrity chef, who is often spotted out swimming and cycling by paparazzi.
His passion for sport came from a young age actually. “My father was a swim teacher. We used to swim before school, swim after school,” he recalls.
Currently, Gordon is promoting his new above-mentioned documentary, taking a healthy approach to what we consume in our bodies. He travelled into the South American jungles to witness the cocaine trade first hand as he investigates the dangerous drug.
“I saw cocaine quite early on in my career. I’ve been served it. I’ve been given it,” the Kitchen Nightmares host tells the cameras.
“I’ve cooked some serious s**t in my life but nothing quite on this level,” the chef explains. “I’ve had my hand shaken and left with little wraps of foil in it. I’ve been asked to dust cocaine on top of soufflés, to put it on as icing sugar… Coke’s everywhere. It’s spiraling out of control.” he also added.
As I’m sure most of you know, Gordon Ramsay is also quite good at insulting people. Here are some of the best ones.
