When you have an important red carpet event like, say the Golden Globe Awards, you can always count on celebrities coming dressed in gowns as lavish and luxurious as possible, in dresses the likes of which had never been seen before, in outfits designed for only one specific reason: to outshine the other celebs. This year, however, things were very different.
This year, all the stars attending the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards were united by a common cause: to denounce the sexual abuse and harassment recently uncovered in Hollywood. All the actresses, with a few exceptions, agreed to wear black to express their solidarity with the #TimesUp initiative. This project is a legal defense fund providing support for sexual harassment victims across all industries. Its mission statement defines it as a “unified call for change from women in entertainment for women everywhere.”
But just because all these celebs went for a more subdued color, it doesn’t mean that their gowns weren’t extraordinary and breathtaking. On the contrary! Here is what the Hollywood’s best and brightest chose to wear for this momentous occasion, courtesy of The HuffPost.
