If you are a 90s kid, you probably remember watching Home Alone and its sequel over and over again and these never stopped being your favorite movies. The amazing feeling of being free to do what you want in the grown-up world fascinated youngsters all around the world. The sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York was released in the distant 1992, but Kevin was again the boy taking over from the adults, this time in New York City and among other places at the famed and fancy Plaza Hotel. This year, in celebration of Home Alone 2‘s 25th anniversary, New York’s Plaza Hotel is offering guests a fun-filled Kevin McAllister package. Rates start at $895, which is less than the $967 Kevin spent on room service in the movie. Are you excited yet?
You can finally enjoy a lavish stay and feel like your childhood hero!
“In-room and throughout the hotel, a variety of experiences inspired by Kevin’s time over the holidays here at The Plaza will come to life for guests to enjoy,” according to the hotel’s website.
Guests can also dine in the Todd English Food Hall to taste-test a 90’s inspired menu “with upscale versions of childhood favorites, or to head over to the interactive photo-experience where they’ll find themselves in Kevin’s New York journey”.
Interestingly, guests can order an ‘over-the-top’ cream ream sundae from room service, just like the one Kevin had in the film. That’s not all!
The hotel concierge will also arrange for guests to experience New York sights. These include the Empire State Building, Wollman Rink and a limo trip through the city.
There is one sad news, though. For true Home Alone fans, the pigeon lady, played by actress Brenda Fricker, is not included. A guest appearance from Donald Trump is also not included.
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York aired on November 20, 1992. The mischevious Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, repeated the role from the original. Want to hear the story all over again? Remember when Kevin lost track of his father at the airport? Then he got on a plane headed for New York City, while the rest of the McCallisters fly to Florida. Although Kevin has fun and everything he needs from his dad’s credit card, he learns something else. The Wet Bandits, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, have escaped prison and are also in New York.
The Plaza Hotel package will be available to book as of December 1, 2017. Guests will have almost a year to enjoy the experience.
This offer ends on October 29, 2018.
