Jason Momoa Looks Totally Different In His Younger Years

Momoa

If you already saw the latest Justice League film then the highlight must’ve been Jason Momoa as Aquaman.

As many of us know, Aquaman is usually one of the most-ridiculed characters in the DC superhero roster, but this time, judging on Momoa’s performance, you just don’t feel like making fun of him.

If you have seen Game Of Thrones or Conan earlier, you won’t be surprised but he hasn’t always looked like he does now.

Momoa has a very distinctive look with the beard, hair and the intense eyes, but he hasn’t always looked like the rugged royalty he plays onscreen. The Hawaii native started his career as a model, being named Hawaii’s Model Of The Year in 1999.

As you can see in this pic, he looks very unrecognizable.

Wow!

Jason was only 19 years old in that pic, while working at a surf shop in Hawaii he was spotted by a local talent agency. That’s where his acting career began, appearing on Baywatch Hawaii as Jason Iaone. He then moved on to North Shore, as well as in Johnson Vacation and Stargate Atlantis.

I mean, of course, his propulsion into the forefront of pop culture came with his role as the brutal Khal Drogo in the first season of Game of Thrones in 2011.

Even though his character didn’t last very long, he recently came under fire about his comments for “raping beautiful women”.

In a video, which was a 2011 Comic-Con panel, he said:

“But as far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that genre because there are so many things you can do, like rip someone’s tongue out of their throat and get away with it and rape beautiful women.”

To the 38-year-old made sure to apologize for that though on Instagram.

“I awoke in Australia to the justified reactions by many people to a distasteful joke I made years ago in Hall H for which I am sorry. I am still severely disappointed in myself at the insensitivity of my remarks that day.

“I know my sincerest apology now won’t take away those hurtful words. Rape and sexual harassment can reach anyone and I have seen first hand its painful torment among members of my own family and friends. I made a truly tasteless comment. It is unacceptable and I sincerely apologize with a heavy heart for the words I said.”

In the new Justice League movie, Jason was one of the few actors to emerge with much credit. If you haven’t seen it yet, make sure you do.
