People say that almost everyone has a doppelgänger but only rare, lucky ones have had the privilege to find out who that person really is. I mean, there are seven billion people in the world so the chance to find that one individual is not that big. Unless, your doppelgänger just happens to be a famous celebrity, in this case, Jennifer Lawrence.
17-year-old Alexia Maier cannot be a big cineast since she had no idea she looked like one of the biggest acting stars on the planet. The Floridian who is ten years Lawrence’s junior didn’t know why people kept approaching her and asking her for an autograph.
“At first I thought it was a joke when people started saying I looked like Jennifer Lawrence,” she told LadBible.
“But when I started getting dozens of comments about my J-Law similarities, I started to realize it myself.”
Alexia describes how one place where she doesn’t get a celebrity treatment is her hometown of Ponte Vedra, in northeastern Florida.
“In my hometown, people know they’re not going to see a real celebrity, so I’ve been told I look like her, but never confused. But when visiting New York, people will ask me for autographs,” she revealed.
“I think one of my favorite examples is when a woman said ‘Jennifer, I’m your biggest fan. I told her, ‘I’m not Jennifer!’ but the woman immediately said, ‘Are you sure?’ I’ll never forget her reaction. At first, it was surprise, then awe, then disappointment.”
But while a lot of people would be flattered to look like an Oscar-winning thespian, Alexia admits that she’s not a big fan.
“I know this is not the answer people are expecting from me, but I am not a fan,” she admits.
“Even so, I can acknowledge that Jennifer has definitely impacted my life in strange ways. I got a lot of attention in the first couple years of high school because of my similarities to her.
“I was also subjected to a lot of online attention when I was pretty young, good and bad, but both have managed to help shape me as a person.”
The famous 27-year-old actress hasn’t commented on her doppelgänger yet, but at least she knows that she will always be able to find a bit of peace and quiet and escape the crowds in Ponte Vedra, Florida.
