The thirty-six-year-old American singer, actress, and businesswoman appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last month only to reveal a disappointing truth for her fans. She is not pregnant for the third time, contrary to popular rumors lately. Whether you love her for her musical talent, or her business sense, she is an excellent mother, too. Simpson signed a recording contract with Columbia Records when she was only sixteen and released her debut studio album in 1999. The talented mother-of-two has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, and that’s not her only success. She launched her own fashion line The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005. Currently, she is married to 37-year-old Eric Johnson.
And no, they are not going to have a baby.
Jessica made this “exciting” statement on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. She told the 59-year-old comedienne:
“I’m not pregnant on your show!”
Ellen questioned her further: “Are you sure that you’re not pregnant? I heard that you were.”
“Oh, gosh!” replied Simpson. “We had an IUD. Nothing’s gonna get in that uterus.”
It’s been four years since Simpson’s last appearance on the daytime talk show. The TV host then reminded her: “You only show up here when you’re pregnant.”
Simpson has a 5-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son with her husband Eric, who is a former NFL player.
And the show went on to become even more interesting. Simpson revealed what she and her hubby like to do as a couple.
“He kind of likes TV shows, but he snores through them. So, I guess I like that. He golfs; I don’t. We love our kids and I like to get a back massage — every night, since I was pregnant, hands down. Even if things aren’t going great and he’s still snoring somehow, he knows how to massage my back.”
Simpson is also keeping busy with her billion-dollar business in the fashion world. She revealed that the company is getting even bigger.
“We’re always expanding. There’s nothing out of reach for us,” she stated.
And the greatest news for her fans: she also confirmed that she’s working on new music and is determined to release it later this year.
“I probably have about 38, so maybe 36 or 39 [songs written so far],” she explained. “I have to play it for you, because I think you’ll be impressed. I’m impressed with myself!”
Good for you, Jessica! We can’t wait for your new album!
