Here Is How Leah Lost Weight After Struggling For Years

Many of us are struggling to find the motivation that will keep us from constantly giving up on our fitness and workout routines designated to help us lose weight, so let’s embrace this fitness enthusiast’s story about how she successfully managed to shed the excess timber, courtesy of POPSUGAR.

Leah from Vancouver posted some amazing photos to celebrate her ‘kaylaversary’ – one year since starting on the Bikini-Body-Guide program- on her Instagram account @amostlyhealthylife that has 7,653 followers to date. The 26-year-old Canadian shares her fitness adventures and experiences as well as what it’s like to be gluten-free and plant-based.

One year ago, she has committed to the BBG program, and she wrote, “I also made a promise to myself to eat healthier, exercise regularly, workout hard, and never give up on myself.”

The chemistry student’s journey began back in 2013, and for a long time she was just focused on “being skinny.” The yoga enthusiast was uncomfortable with herself and disclosed, “it took me a long time, and a lot of starting, giving up and restarting, to lose weight and reach goals I never thought were achievable for me.”

2013 ➡️ 2017 •• Today is my #kaylaversary! One year ago today I started #BBG ‍♀️ and one year ago today I also made a promise to myself to eat healthier, exercise regularly, workout hard, and never give up on myself. My goals have changed a lot in the last year I always just wanted to be “skinny”, then I wanted to be strong, and now I just want to be happy and feel good.

Whatever body type I am, I have no idea and I don’t care. Just workin’ on living healthy and loving myself •• ✨Sometimes it feels impossible to change your life, but every little step counts. Set small goals and celebrate them! It took me almost 3 years and a lot of failing and giving up on myself to be able to make the decision to change my lifestyle. Remember you’re not stuck where you are, your body can do anything you want it to. It’s your mind you have to convince. Don’t give up on yourself, remember how far you’ve come and be proud of yourself!

She continued, “since I started BBG last year, I’ve really focused on being more in tune with my body, forming a routine with exercise and eating healthier — mostly 80/20. I’ve seen my body changing, and my goals and my mindset have changed over time, too.”

First, she wanted to be thin and then strong, but “now I just want to be happy and feel good.”

Sometimes, even if there is a long way to go in order to achieve your goal, you should never give up. For instance, setting small goals and moving with small steps will also get you to accomplish your final goal.

Leah, who ultimately managed to lose 66lbs, advises to “set small goals and celebrate them!” She admits it took her almost 3 years and a lot of failing and giving up on herself to be able to make the decision to change her lifestyle.

“The most important lesson I’ve learned, and one that has had the biggest impact on me, is to STOP WEIGHING MYSELF! I obsessed over the scale for as long as I can remember, I was always focused on that number. It was unhealthy and would often make me unhappy as I wasn’t where I thought I ‘should be’, so I stopped weighing myself completely,” Leah revealed.

She says she’s not sure what she weighs exactly now, “but what I can tell you is that I feel healthy, and I’m happy ☀️ and that’s worth a heck of a lot more than a number for me.”

Get motivated and determined to get in shape, and even if you fail, start over and fail better, until you finally succeed. Or as Leah puts it, “don’t give up on yourself, remember how far you’ve come and be proud of yourself!”
