To mark the first decade of their TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the family posed for the cover of Hollywood Reporter. But that gave some smart people some ideas. Some… Librarians some ideas. Librarians equal smart people, right?
Well, after seeing the Kardashian shoot, these librarians decided it would be funny to somehow channel it with a library spin, the Daily Mail reports.
It’s been 10 years since the Kardashians first graced our screens
“To celebrate, our social media team decided to have a totally impromptu, definitely not planned, photo-shoot.” The staff of Invercargill City Libraries and Archives, based in New Zealand, wrote in their Facebook post.
“We picked that photo to spoof because it’s iconic and also we thought how funny would that look with ordinary people in it,” Bonnie Mager, the library’s digital and communications manager told BuzzFeed.
“We decided the boys needed to be in the most sexualized positions, for both humor and to show how silly it would be to pose males like that,” Mager added. “The girls just went with who had the most accurate clothing to match those people.”
To “celebrate” that, the Invercargill team of librarians replicated Hollywood Reporter’s cover in “a totally impromptu, definitely not planned, photo-shoot.”
Those are… some really cool librarians.
To date, their post has accumulated over 8,000 likes which is crazy numbers for their tiny Facebook page. Now major publishing companies are covering the parody and even more people are chiming in.
Most of their readers have clearly made up their mind who wore it better. “I’d prefer to see the Librarians,” one commenter said. “The librarians win this,” concluded another.
The staff of Invercargill City Libraries and Archives (New Zealand) seems like an awesome bunch of people
Some commenters on Facebook, however, had their doubts about this photo-shoot:
But almost everyone was delighted Invercargill City Libraries and Archives did something interesting:
You know, if I could pick a library, it would definitely be these guys! Good job, librarians of Invercargill, the world gives you an applause!
