American songstress and total babe Mandy Moore hosted this year’s 2017 Costume Designers Guild Awards, looking ravishing in a red, Jenny Packham gown.
It was a lace and floral embellished gown with a short v-neckline and bracelet length sleeves.
Her choice was a fitting tribute to the occasion she was hosting.
Originally, the dress appeared on a runway worn with a bodysuit underneath for coverage, however, Mandy opted for a nude mini-dress.
Ravishing in Red
The Costume Designers Guild Awards are held annually and award excellence in costume design in motion pictures, television, and commercials.
The 5 feet 10 inches tall actress, ventured into fashion herself when she debuted her first clothing line in 2005, called Mblem. Her target was to provide taller women with clothing.
Mandy Moore opted for a toned down gown. She was a bit on the modest side. However, don’t let the front side of the dress fool you. When Mandy turned away from you, her back was was really quite revealing.
Of course, some didn’t quite like the choice.
Catherine Kallon over at redcarpet-fashion awards.com commented:”[The dress]… was stunning on the runway, but lost all its allure on the red carpet.”
“Why? Well, it’s a case of the dreaded lining again.”
What can you do about it, right Mandy? Who cares?
One of the winners on the night was, The Devil Wears Prada, one and only, Meryl Streep.
She received the Distinguished Collaborator Award, for “individuals who demonstrate unwavering support of costume design and creative partnerships with costume designers.”
Meryl Streep shared that her mother inspired her to major in costume design.
They should’ve given her an award as well. For always being her positive self, looking gorge without being a thorn in the eye and just for doing a great job running the show!
