Marilyn Manson is certainly a… different celebrity. His style, his music, pretty much everything about him deviates from the norm. Some people may think that’s a good thing, and those tend to adore him, while others absolutely despise him.

His real name is Brian Hugh Warner, and he was born on January 5, 1969.

2. An atheist attending Catholic school
He attended a Catholic school for most of his childhood, specifically Heritage Christian School from first to tenth grade, even though he is an atheist.

3. He originally wanted to be a music journalist
Yes, really. Before he became an internationally recognized rock star, he wanted to pursue a career in music journalism.
He attended Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and majored in journalism. He also wrote for a magazine named 25th Parallel, which allowed him to interview multiple rock stars, and therefore influence his work.
4. Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids
This was Manson’s first band, all the way back in 1989, and they renamed themselves in 1992 as just Marilyn Manson.
The name is actually a combination of the iconic Marilyn Monroe and the infamous serial killer Charles Manson. I see what you did there.

5. He was engaged three times
Those three times, he was engaged to Rose McGowan, Dita Von Teese and Evan Rachel Wood. He ended up marrying Dita, but after a year of marriage they got divorced.

6. He’s had a few acting gigs, including Ron Tully in the final season of Sons of Anarchy
He has said that the most challenging part of the role was learning how to grow a goatee.

He has also made an appearance in one of his favorite TV shows, those being Eastbound and Down. He appeared in a 2013 episode as a roller-skating waiter.

That award goes to the 1971 release of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. He was interested in taking up the role in the 2005 remake, and even though Depp landed the role, he said that he used Marilyn as inspiration for the character.

Alongside his musical talents, he is a gifted painter and has held multiple art shows across the US and Europe.

Although his appearance might say otherwise, Marilyn is actually quite a generous person and is linked to multiple charities. These include e “Music for Life” and “Little Kids Rock,” which work to give musical instruments and training to low-income children.

He suffered from allergies as a child but freed himself from them as an adult. Apparently, those allergies came from his mother’s Munchausen by Proxy syndrom, which causes a person to create health issues for another person to gain some sympathy.
