Meghan Markle Was Lined Up To Play The Next Bond Girl

The soon-to-be-royal who is a humanitarian, actor, activist and blogger is giving it all up to become Prince Harry’s wife.  Apparently, Meghan Markle caught the eye of 007 producers in her role as Rachel Zane in US legal drama Suits last year and she was shortlisted as Daniel Craig’s next Bond Girl.

The producers wanted a glamorous actress for the upcoming films and they believed Meghan would be a perfect fit.

According to The Telegraph an insider of the industry said: “Meghan fits the role of a Bond girl perfectly. The role more recently has gone to actresses deemed to be rising stars, and Meghan certainly was seen as that before her relationship with Harry became public.”

“The brief was to find a glamorous rising star, specifically someone American or Canadian.”


However, the 36-year-old actress revealed that she has quit showbiz altogether and is not interested in acting anymore.


According to the Daily Mail, James Bond producer, Barbara Broccoli said: “These films tend to reflect the times so we always try to push the envelope a little bit. Anything is possible.”

Hinting that the next James Bond could be black or a woman.


“Right now, it’s Daniel Craig, and I’m very happy with Daniel Craig, but who knows what the future will bring?” she added.

James Bond used to be a tall, dark-haired man and Barbara changed that when she cast Daniel Craig.

Daniel Craig told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show “I’ve been doing interviews about it all day and people have been asking me and I’ve been kind of coy but I kind of felt like, if I was going to speak the truth, I should speak the truth to you.”

He then said this:

We can not wait to see who’s gonna be the next James Bond.
