‘America’s Got Talent’ Is Stopped Due To The Death Of Mel B’s Father

The twelfth season of America’s Got Talent has been canceled until further notice after judge Mel B’s father, Martin Brown, passed away on Saturday, the 4th of February. The death follows a five-year long battle with cancer.

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, better known as Mel B, announced the news on Instagram where she shared a poignant photo of herself and her sister Danielle Brown holding her father’s hands.

“It is with great sadness after a 5yr battle with multiple myeloma cancer our loving father Martin Brown passed away age 63 peacefully yesterday,” the 41-year-old singer wrote.

“Both of us his children were by his side and would like to say thank you to St Gemma’s and all the doctors and nurses for their amazing care and support over the years. Please respect our privacy and let us as a united family grieve With love and respect. Melanie and Danielle Brown x Be Free Dad”

Numerous fans have taken to the social media platform to send their condolences to the Leeds-born singer, with almost 2,000 condolences being posted in three days.

Melanie Brown’s father Martin hailed from the tiny Caribbean two island nation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. For the past five years, he has been fighting multiple myeloma – a type of cancer formed by malignant plasma cells. May he rest in peace.
