This is the best news you’ll read all day. Heck, perhaps for the entire week, or month! Good news is sort of rare these days. But thanks to the kindness of these students and Today for sharing, we can enjoy a smile on our face.
Brian Junk is a custodian at City High School. He’s the guy behind keeping the campus in perfect shape for all students – thousands of them – throughout the year. Naturally, most of the students respect him, but there was a problem – while the campus was in tip-top shape, Brian’s boots weren’t.
And Christmas was fast approaching… So what to do?
Well, here’s what student Kenna Hermanson and her friends did:
They gave Mr. Junk a brand new pair of boots! Because he deserved it!
“So happy we were able to do this for one of the sweetest people I know, the janitor at our school, Brian!” Kenna Hermanson wrote when publishing the clip. “He’s always putting a smile on everyone’s faces during school & as a Christmas gift a bunch of people pitched in to buy him some new shoes,” she added.
Brian Junk serves as the custodial supervisor at Garden City school and was touched by the gesture.
“You guys are gonna make me cry,” he was saying as he tried to hug every student.
“Man, oh, mighty! I need some really bad,” he exclaimed when he opened the box and saw the working boots.
But the students were happy at seeing him happy too! “You always go above and beyond for us,” they said, thanking Brian for his service. “Thank you for everything you do & making the school day more enjoyable for everyone. Merry Christmas.”
And Merry Christmas indeed!
