I’m pretty sure that when you were a kid, you probably liked loosing a tooth because you would get a free visit from the tooth fairy. And what did a visit from her mean? Some cash money. But now that you are an adult, things have changed – so you better pray that your teeth don’t come out. This is your only set of teeth you have left so you should keep them nice and sparkly. In order to do that, it is very important to brush away the tartar. The tartar buildup can cause cavities, tooth decay and in extreme cases, gum disease too. So, it’s important to maintain a proper dental regimen so that you don’t lose your teeth at an early age.
Dentist visits are pretty expensive but there are some things you can do at home to keep those visits few and far between. If you find yourself too busy to visit the dentist, try this method at home. Anyways, this doesn’t mean that you can avoid the dentist chair forever. You don’t even have to brush with baking soda, because brushing regularly works fine. You just have to make sure that you are using a toothbrush that includes the American Dental Association approval. These brushes are made to give you the best clean you can have.
Whiter teeth is not going to be the only benefit of using baking soda to brush your pearly whites. The household substance is also helpful at preventing bad breath too. This happens by balancing the acid levels in your mouth and is overpowering residual acids left by food. The practice also prevents gum disease which is known as gingivitis, and removes the bulk of the buildup too. Baking soda is effective too at soothing mouth ulcers or sores that take long to heal.
If you want to be sure that your pearly whites are white for a long time, then you should try this tartar removing trick. What you’ll need is: baking soda, salt, hydrogen peroxide, water, a cup, a dental pick, a toothpick and antiseptic mouth wash. To create your “toothpaste” mix one tablespoon of baking soda with a half teaspoon of salt. Then, you should wet your brush and dip it into the mix. Brush your teeth for five minutes before you spit anything into the sink.
Now, mix a cup of hydrogen peroxide with a half cup of water. Gargle the mixture for a minute and then rinse again with plain water or your mouth wash. Use the dental pick to scarp off the yellow tartar from your teeth and be very careful to not poke your gums. You could easily damage them and cause them to bleed.
Also, remember, don’t eat too much sugar, brush and floss.
