A Syrian mother and daughter gave birth at the same time after undergoing Cesarean sections together at a Turkish hospital in Konya. Fatma, 42, and daughter Gade Birinci, 21, fled their native country three years ago because of the civil war and then found out that they were pregnant in the same week.
They gave birth at the same time at a Turkish hospital.
The two newborn boys are named Recep and Tayyip, named after the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to Turkish news outlet Ensonhaber.
The chief physician, Erkan Atas, visited the family in the hospital room right after the successful birth.
He said: “This is an event that I have never heard of. They have escaped from the war into our country and have taken refuge in Turkey for three years.”
