Imagine you are out with your baby in public, but your baby wants to be nursed. You breastfeed, but do you feel comfortable doing it in front of everyone? Some people have gone as far as having sex while breastfeeding, and people didn’t like it much, but breastfeeding is the most natural process that has continued throughout centuries. Yet, people still get disgusted to see women feeding their little ones in public. But the same people don’t have a problem eating in public themselves, because that’s kind of the same thing. A mom at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London was asked to cover her breast while breastfeeding her little one. And it was August 5th, in the middle of World Breastfeeding Week. The woman took to Twitter to explain herself and how what she did was right and people had a quick reaction.
As the London mom was holding her one-year-old, a staff member asked her to cover herself. In the middle of all the naked statues, and in 2017 in the UK, where breastfeeding is protected by law, even in museums. The woman, who is on Twitter with the name of Vaguechera, had apparently flashed a “nanosecond of nipple” and she was later rather shocked.
The moment they asked her to cover up, she immediately took to Twitter to shame the museum.
As you can see, the place was also full of nude sculptures, and she made the perfect response.
She took some photos of bare-breasted sculptures. You can see the irony as even among them, someone did not allow her to breastfeed.
Of course, she also added some hilarious captions to ridicule the situation even further.
Later on, the museum offered a sincere apology through the director Tristam Hunt. But it was too late for Twitter, the post quickly went viral with more than 7 thousand retweets.
Many users supported her as well.
Others, however, had another point and didn’t care about the issue.
Obviously, public breastfeeding is still an endlessly-debatable issue.
