Imagine how cool it would be to be on the big screen from the age of six months, all the way to the present day. You were just born to be famous if that makes sense. Well, that’s the case with the Olsen twins. They are now 30 years old, but they appeared for the first time on the big screen when they were just six months old.
Since then, they’ve appeared in so many famous things, they are now household names. The twins’ names are Mary-Kate and Ashley, for those that don’t know.
But how did these two household names actually start out? Well, it’s time to find out.
1. The babies make it big in 1987.
When they were just six months old, they were both cast to portray the role of Michelle Tanner, the youngest daughter in the Tanner family in Full House, the sitcom created by Jeff Franklin, that ran from 1987 through 1995.
If you watched the show as a kid, you probably didn’t know that both Mary-Kate and Ashley portrayed one character, but that’s how it was, and I bet you couldn’t tell the difference!
2. At age 3 they were already becoming America’s favorite toddlers
With their role as Michelle, they melted hearts everywhere with their adorable antics and happy attitudes.
3. By the 90s, they were on top of the world
They got older and learned how to speak as well as memorize lines. As a result, their roles on Full House got even bigger, and it wasn’t long before storylines were being written to showcase their talents.

5. The girls take Full House to the top in ’93.
Мichelle Tanner slowly grew into the show’s most popular character, and with that, the show’s ratings also grew.
At this point, the world couldn’t get enough of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

6. When 1995 comes along, they slowly move on to bigger things
With eight seasons gone by, Full House was coming to an end. But the Olsen twins’ career wasn’t over yet, quite the opposite, this is where it truly began.
Their next big gig was the 1995 romantic comedy It Takes Two, directed by Andy Tennant and starring Steve Guttenberg and Kirstie Alley.
7. For the rest of the 90s, they kept busy
The following years were filled with TV movies, music videos and short-lived television series. But as Mary-Kate and Ashley continued to grow up, their sights were set on new adventures.
8. But it wasn’t until 2001 when they found their true passion
After several gigs, they decided to take a chance and make their own fashion line
9. After unfortunately a few failed TV shows and film projects, the girls decide to leave film.
2004 was the last year when these two appeared on screen together. The years that came before were filled with several failed projects such as The Challenge, New York Minute, and So Little Time.

11. They were on top of the fashion world in 2012
A little over five years after launching their line, they were crowned Womenswear Designers of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Turns out that they didn’t really need acting after all.
12. And finally, we come to today
The twins still have their own lines and are among the most recognized fashion designers in the world.
They’ve certainly come a long way from yelling “You got it dude!” at Uncle Jesse.
