Are you a fan of video games? Do you remember Spyro the Dragon? First released in 1998, the series of platform video games which primarily featured the young purple dragon Spyro as the main protagonist was the personal favorite of many young gamers. Now, there is exciting news as the Spyro the Dragon trilogy which has sold nearly 5 million copies worldwide is getting remastered, UNILAD reports.
The PlayStation game is reportedly set to be announced in March 2018. According to gaming website Kotaku, the game will be released sometime toward the end of this year.
The trilogy will follow in the footsteps of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and will feature new assets, animations, and new cinematics. Excited yet?
Here is what the new Vicarious Visions-produced Spyro is set to include.
The remaster will include Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage! and Year of the Dragon. That’s not all! It is quite possible that content which was cut from the original games will make it into the new versions.
Moreover, one source has suggested the game, which is coming to PS4, might be released as early as September. Interestingly, this would mean that the release will drop just in time for Spyro’s 20th anniversary, as the original game was first released on September 9, 1998!
It’s unlikely the announcement will detail this, but the game is apparently set to be a one-year timed exclusive for PlayStation 4, before it gets opened up to other systems in 2019.
This would follow in the footsteps of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy which was released last year and is expected to hit multiple consoles in 2018.
